Genealogy Numbering Systems
In the Kariapper Family Tree, we use three unique yet interconnected systems to identify and trace members of the lineage. Each serves a specific purpose. Here’s a summary:
1. 🧬 dID – d’Aboville ID
What it is:
A dot-separated genealogical path showing a person’s lineage. This follows the standard d’Aboville system, except we start with

ALK → First Child → 2nd Child → 4th child

2. 🪪 KID – Kariapper ID
What it is:
A structured ID that encodes birth order, gender, and optional attributes like number of spouses or tuplets in the long version (KIDL).

→ ALK’s 1st child (y=male), his 5th child (y=male), his 1st child (x=female)

3. ✍️ KSID – Kariapper Short ID
What it is:
A compact letter-based ID encoding birth order and gender from ALK down to the person. Each letter stands for a person in each generation starting from the left with the founder ALK represented by upprercase letter A. And the generation level of the individual is prepended at the beginning as 01, 02 …

– Uppercase = Male
– Lowercase = Female
– A = 1st child, B = 2nd child, …, Z = 26th child
– Lowercase = Female
– A = 1st child, B = 2nd child, …, Z = 26th child
Example: 04AfEa→ 04 (4th generation) → A (for the founder ALK – he is the first child (male) from his parents) → f (A’s 6th child, f is the sixth letter and lower cased – daughter) → E (her 5th child (son)) → a (his 1st child (daughter))
